Victory over Carnality

The carnal mind of man is what caused our decline and separation from God. We were made in God’s image and likeness, but our own desires led us away from Him and His good plans for us. The Bible says in Romans 8:7-8 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” This is a powerful reminder of how far we have fallen from grace and the good plans that God had for us.

The Bible tells us that “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.’” (Romans 3:10-11). This means that on our own, there is nothing we can do to be good enough for God. We have been separated from Him by our own carnal desires and sin.

But the good news is that Jesus Christ came to save us! He died on the cross for our sins so that we could be reconciled to God. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This is how we can receive salvation and have a sound mind–through Jesus Christ. When we believe in Him and accept Him as our Savior, He gives us a new mind and spirit that is no longer carnal but holy.

The carnal mind of man is the reason for our decline, but Jesus Christ’s death on the cross has given us hope for salvation and a renewed mind through His grace. We can now have victory over sin and live a life of obedience to God. So let us give thanks for the gift of salvation that Jesus has given us and strive to be more like Him each day!

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28.

We can have hope and be renewed in our minds by the power of Jesus’s salvation! Let us strive to follow Him and live a life of obedience to His will.

Praise be to God! Amen.
